Illinois Measure of Annual Growth in English (IMAGE)

The Illinois Measure of Annual Growth in English (IMAGE) measures the progress of students with limited English proficiency (LEP). In 2006, the tests were administered in reading and mathematics in Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11.

Students eligible for the IMAGE assessment will be tested in Grades 3-8 and 11 in the subjects of reading and mathematics. The tests will be administered March 5-16, 2007.

Test scores for students enrolled on or after May 1, 2005, will be counted for participation only in reporting Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) on the School Report Card.

Participation in state-approved TBE/TPI is no longer a requirement for IMAGE, but districts without state-approved TBE/TPI will be required to submit an Instructional Delivery Education Plan (IDEP), provided by ISBE, describing how the LEP student(s) educational needs are being met.
