Fast Facts

The mission of Community Consolidated School District 15 is to produce world-class learners by building a connected learning community.

The district-the second largest elementary system in Illinois with nearly 12,400 students-has 15 elementary schools, 4 junior high schools, and an alternative school. School District 15 serves a diverse community of more than 115,000 residents in which more than 70 languages are spoken.

The district employs approximately 2,290 people. Nearly 67 percent of the certified staff hold master’s degrees and have an average of 17 years experience. School District 15 is committed to providing educational opportunities that will prepare children for the challenges of a rapidly changing world-a solid foundation in the basics and the development of independent learners and problem solvers. The district also recognizes the essential role technology plays in helping children reach their potential and giving them the necessary tools to be successful.

School District 15 works to build a connected learning community to enhance our students’ success. The district works closely with parents and other community members, PTAs and PTSAs, senior citizens, area businesses, service organizations, and local governments. Our schools are fortunate to have strong community support—the most recent figures show that in the past school year, more than 12,973 volunteers contributed nearly 161,000 hours of service in the schools.
