2008-09 Student Fees
Textbook Rental / Material / Technology Fees
School District 15 charges a book rental, material, and technology fee to defray costs. If you are new to the district, fees are payable at the time of enrollment. During the summer, annual enrollment, including payment of fees for the coming school year, is conducted by mail. Students who enroll late may pay the fees in the school office when they register. See below for more information regarding student fee payment procedures.
District 15 student fees for 2008-09 are:
- Kindergarten (book/material fees)$60 per student/year
- Grades 1-6 (book/material/technology fees)$120 per student/year
- Grades 7-8 (book/material/technology fees)$130 per student/year
There is a late fee payment charge of $50 per student if not paid by October 1, 2008. There is a returned check fee of $25 per check. Because all books under this rental plan are the property of the Board of Education, the cost for replacement of lost or damaged books is the responsibility of the student.
Other Fees
Other fees collected from students are optional. They include interscholastic
sports ($85/sport/year or $175 maximum/student/year), student insurance,
activity bus fees ($60/family/year), and/or regular bus fees for
students living less than 1½ miles from school (see Transportation
Department).

We hope you find the Web Store helpful. We expect to add other fees in the near future.

Parents will receive information on the district's fee waiver policy by mail in July, along with an application for the waiver. Student Breakfast and Lunch Programs
A reasonably priced school lunch program is available at all 20 schools. Breakfast also is offered at many schools. Meals are prepared and packaged in individual servings in a central kitchen and delivered daily to the schools. School Nutrition Services staff at the junior highs prepare food on-site daily. Each meal is nutritious and well-balanced, and menus are determined based on student preferences. Several choices are available each day. A monthly menu is distributed to students and can be found on the district’s Web site. Breakfast and lunch may be purchased by the day, week, month, semester, or year.
For 2008-09, the cost for breakfast is $1.25 per meal; the cost for lunch is $2.00 per meal for elementary students, $2.10 per meal for junior high students. Milk is available for sale to children who bring a lunch from home at a cost of 45¢ per carton.
Elementary and junior high á la carte items are available for purchase, however, not all items are available at all schools, and not all items are available every day. See School Nutrition Services for a list of items available.
Free and reduced-price meals are available to children whose families are unable to pay full price. Application forms (PDF 350KB) for these benefits are available at the schools, the Joseph M. Kiszka Educational Service Center, and online.
MealTime Online
School Nutrition Services offers online meal payment program at all District 15 schools.
Parents can pay for school meals and monitor student account balances and transactions online.
Payments into a student’s school meal account can be made with most credit (Visa or Mastercard) or debit cards. The MealTime Online payment Web site uses the most up-to-date security available. The online payment plan is an enhancement to the district’s existing pre-pay meal program. Cash or checks will still be accepted.
Parents can access their child’s meal account information at any time by visiting www.mymealtime.com or by clicking on the MealTime logo.
