Community Consolidated School District 15 agreed to participate in a federally funded program that will allow the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) to set up vaccination clinics in our schools and, during school hours, administer free 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccinations to children who attend District 15 schools and whose parents provide consent.

UPDATE DECEMBER 8: The CCDPH decided to distribute the 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccines by zip code, and we were notified that the dates of the CCDPH's voluntary H1N1 school vaccination program for District 15 schools in the zip code 60192 is as follows:

(Palatine and Rolling Meadows schools have already received the vaccination.)

Throughout this vaccination effort, communication will be key, and we will strive to update you on the latest news about our participation in this program, and supply you with information and resources you can use to decide the best way provide for your child's health. Correspondence about this program has been and will continue to be sent home in elementary students' backpacks, and mailed to the home addresses of junior high students. Additionally, many communications will be distributed via e-mail through the new D15 E-News (click here to subscribe) service and via phone calls made by the District's emergency notification system.

This section of the District's Web site will serve as our H1N1 headquarters. We encourage you to not only check it regularly for updated information about the District's participation in this countywide H1N1 vaccination effort, but to also explore it and study the information we've posted on the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus and vaccines. Again, our hope is that this information will help you determine whether this opportunity for your child to be vaccinated against the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus is right for you.

Should you have any questions regarding medical issues, we encourage you to contact your private healthcare provider or your school nurse. All other questions and concerns should be directed to your school principal or to h1n1@ccsd15.net with a note indicating what school your child attends. Also, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for additional information.
