District Fifteen Educational Foundation

District Fifteen Educational Foundation

The mission of the District Fifteen Educational Foundation “is to acquire resources to be used for programs and projects to enhance and supplement the educational experience of District 15 students.”

Community members who foresaw the need of Community Consolidated School District 15 to provide for private financial investment in education established the Foundation in 1989. The Foundation is an autonomous 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization directed by a volunteer Board of Trustees from the District 15 community. To date, the Foundation has invested more than $1.7 million to advance the educational experience of District 15 students.

The Foundation has sponsored the following events:

  • Various “Family Day” activities, including:
    • The Kelly Miller Circus
    • CoCo Key Water Resort
    • Chicago Rush Arena Football
    • Chicago Wolves (February 20, 2010)
    • Schaumburg Flyers
  • Battle of the Bands
  • Bowl for Education
  • Gino’s East “Raise Some Dough” Fundraiser
  • “Hearts of Gold” Dinner Dance & Auction
  • LEGO League
  • Read-O-Rama/Walk for Education

Foundation Update for School Year 2008-09

  • Helped support the PTA's anti-bullying effort by partially sponsoring the speaker "Gabe and Izzy."
  • Worked with the Motorola Foundation to provide funding for seven LEGO League teams throughout the district.
  • Sponsored the Read-O-Rama/Walk for Education at 15 participating schools which raised over $35,000.

Teacher/Staff Tributes

If you are looking for a unique gift for a teacher or staff member, consider making a donation to the Foundation through our Teacher/Staff Tribute program. We will send a letter to the staff member to notify them of the gift that you have made in their honor and we will send you a letter in thanks for your tax deductible donation.

We are always looking for community members that want to help improve the education of children to join the Foundation's efforts. For more information on becoming a board member or making a donation, contact the Foundation office at (847) 963-3160 or e-mail husst@ccsd15.net.
